When? Feb 5 & 6, 2010
Who? our dear friends and family from the US surprised the birthday boy
Why? the big four-o
These are the friends that were waiting at our house when Brian arrived home from the gym Friday morning. I wish I can say he was surprised but he knew something was up.
Brian - "Is it just us? Nobody's here?"
Me - "Nope. Just us. I'm fixing lunch. Can you fix the shade? I can't get it to stay up"
Brian - "Sure"
Friends - "Surprise!!"
After a day spent lounging around the house we had a great dinner at our local pub and then way too many drinks in Camden. The next day was very rough. Katie was the only smart (and pregnant) one!
this was the point we should have gone home ... but we didn't
Sat night we went out for pre-dinner drinks and SURPRISE Brian's mom (Meme) and his Aunt Gail (from CA!) were waiting at the bar. I'm pretty certain tears were shed.
After a few cocktails we went to a nearby restaurant for "dinner" and low and behold another surprise ... a party!! And thankfully he really was surprised. I won't go into the many months of hearing about how "nobody is interested in my 40th birthday" and blah blah blah.
I made a photo book for everyone to sign ... he was definitely feeling the love

More birthday deets to come but I must get some beauty rest ... we are going to the Brits tomorrow!!!
